Hi all the Village Hall has been successful in their application to participate with this programme.

The programme will be called 'FilmLincs' featuring three seasons April-July 2016, August-November 2016 and December 16-March 2017. Each season will feature 8 screenings. The British Film Institute want to see the funding support screenings of British, Independent and Specialist films, which currently include titles such as The Lady in the Van, Suffragette and The Danish Girl, which have all seen huge success in the main cinemas. However, we could also look at British children's films. The programming will be our choice, and not dictated by FilmLincs, but must meet this criteria around promoting British/Independent/Specialist films.

Each venue will need to support the programme by providing our own staff/volunteers to host each event, ensuring venue licenses and insurance are up to date, help in distributing marketing material locally and contributing 25% of our takings. In exchange, our film license costs, marketing material and technician/equipment hire will be covered. We must commit to at least 2 screenings across the year.

I think this will fit in very well with the Village Halls Calendar and we would like expressions of interest  from anyone who would like to assist with this venture.

Please can you let any member of the committee know if you can help out. There is a provisional meeting with the organisers

so if you could also give us your availability between 17th-29th February (including evenings and weekends), that would also be useful.

We are busy organising events for this year from the Worlaby Village Hall and we would love to have a traditional bonfire night with all the trimmings. We do need at least 2 people to be trained to set off our firework display so if you want to expand your experiences and help out with your Village Hall please contact any member of the Rec Committee and we will sort out the training.

Quiz Night

We are very pleased to announce the start of a regular quiz night at Worlaby Village Hall.

Ever fancied playing indoor bowls or want to find a warm and welcoming room to play bowls from. We are pleased to announce that from Wednesday 6th January 2016 from 7pm, Worlaby Village Hall will be opening their doors to indoor bowls every week.

There will be two bowling mats to play from and a small selection of bowls have already been donated/purchased/loaned for the new players to learn the game alongside some experienced players.

So if you fancy joining us please bring some bowls if you have them and a pair of clean flat shoes. Hot drinks will be available and a small charge of £3 per week to play.

We are looking for a jack so if anyone has any to donate or sell please let me know.
